Saint Lucia commemorates ARC with 13th Annual Flotilla

In commemoration of the annual Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to the IGY Rodney Bay Marina, the trans-Atlantic rally was observed with the customary, ARC Flotilla in Saint Lucia with 40 boats sailing from the IGY Rodney Bay Marina to the Castries Harbour and back to the IGY Rodney Bay Marina.


Approximately 200 boats started the 2,700 nautical mile Atlantic adventure on Sunday, November 25, 2018.

Tourism Minister, Honourable Dominic Fedee, speaking to local media aboard a vessel outside the IGY Rodney Bay Marina on Sunday, described the event as spectacular.

ARC, now into its 32nd year continues to have tremedouns impact on the island’s tourism sector.

The first boat is expected to cross the finish line on December 11, with the Majority of ARC boats due to arrive at the IGY Rodney Bay Marina by December 18. The ARC finish line closes on December 21 at 12:00 local time.

Sample ARC Activities in Saint Lucia include the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority welcome party; Anse La Raye Fish Fry; Live music at the Boardwalk; Tree planting excursion; Marina manager’s cocktail party; ARC lectures; Caribbean cooking and Caribbean cruising and the Pigeon Island party.

The ARC prize giving ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2018.
